Frequently Asked Questions
How do you bill for your services?
Generally fees are based on a project basis, not hourly. Where applicable, our fees will be quoted in advance. Our standard billing procedure is to bill when the tax return is completed. We require payment upon receipt. Cash and Checks are accepted. There will be times when a retainer will be required.
What hours are you available?
We are available during normal business hours, which are 8:30 to 5:00 (PST), Monday through Friday. We would be happy to make special arrangements for evening or weekend appointments. Email is preferred for communication and sometimes can be a faster response time.
What role do you play if the IRS audits me?
Matt has an optional service and fee - Tax Audit Assistance (TAA) - that clients can take each year as long as they remain a client and take it each year on which Matt will represent you up to the appeals proccess at no additional fee. It expires annually on April 15th of the following year and must be renewed to stay available. If you are not on TAA, Matt can represent you and fees will be quoted for the service.
How much and what kind of preparation do you need for my return?
For new clients a copy of your most recent return will be used as a basis to prepare the current tax year organizer. The organizer is the road map to prepare your current year tax return. Continuing clients will have the organizer mailed to them every year. Please Contact us with additional questions about preparing your return.
